I am so excited to share this charming Potrero Hill in-home couples session. Not only is there a seriously adorable puppy involved, Serena is actually one of my elementary school friends! We both went to Kensington Elementary many years ago (wow, almost two decades ago!). Serena moved to Japan in 5th grade and we didn’t reconnect until college, when we both found ourselves at Stanford. Despite being in the same area, we never got to see each other much until I saw that she got married on Facebook!

When I reached out to her about a session, she and Andrew were planning on moving out of state for med school. In an unexpected turn of events, literally a few days before they signed a lease and Andrew quit his job, Serena got accepted to UCSF! They completely changed their plans and immediately moved into an adorable apartment in Potrero Hill with their sweet pup Soma. One of my favorite things about in-home sessions is that they can be held at any time of day! This session happened right around noon, when I normally try to avoid scheduling outdoor sessions (despite my insistence that you can find beautiful light anywhere, anytime).

It was so much fun hanging out in Serena and Andrew’s sweet little Potrero Hill apartment, catching up on life and playing with an adorable pup. We even went for a quick little walk to get a photo with the San Francisco skyline as a backdrop. You also HAVE to take a look at Serena’s gorgeous ring with the pale pink stone. I was pretty smitten!
