And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

This fun Windy Hill engagement was a complete blast! I’ve mentioned a few times that photographing couples, whether for engagements, anniversaries or just for fun, is one of my favorite things to do. So you can imagine, I was thrilled when a friend asked if she could purchase a session as a gift for her friends. After exchanging a few emails, it became clear that Jill and Shamil are an extremely fun-loving, adventurous couple. I wanted to make sure that we incorporated their personality into the engagement session and we decided quickly that they did not want an urban location for the session.

Jill had to fly in from Seattle and Shamil also does quite a bit of traveling for his job, so it took a few times to lock down on a date and location. We were originally planning on having a session in the fall and incorporating a leaf fight (one of their first memories together), but the timing didn’t end up working out. We decided to have their engagement session at Windy Hill in Portola Valley instead. Windy Hill is a beautiful open space preserve that is perfect for engagement sessions where you’re looking for a bit of a fairytale forest kind of feel. It makes a beautiful backdrop for maternity sessions as well.

Literally the first thing Jill did was jump onto a fallen tree, despite the fact that she was wearing sandals with very little grip! That set the tone for the rest of the session, which was a complete blast. Jill and Shamil climbed trees, raced down the paths, had a sword fight with fallen branches and basically laughed and smiled the entire time. I hope you enjoy the photos from this Windy Hill engagement as much as I enjoyed taking them!
