And thanks for stopping by! My work reflects my desire to add some whimsy, enchantment and beauty to the world. It is my way of sharing a bit of my heart. I love the laughter and smiles, but I am also drawn to the quiet, intimate moments that are filled with emotion. My goal is to capture the essence of your wedding day, all the little things that come together to paint the big picture.

welcome to my blog...

This Brooklyn engagement session is especially near and dear. I’ve known the lovely bride-to-be Finianne ever since we were little. There’s actually a photo with both of us in it when we were around 3 or 4 on my grandparent’s wall. Finianne’s mom and my dad used to work together and we often spent time together at their office or each other’s home. When Finianne got engaged, I was so thrilled that she asked me to be her wedding photographer. Coordinating their engagement session took a bit of doing because Finianne and her fiance RJ are both in their last year of med school and it’s never super clear what city they’ll be in! We tossed around a few ideas for engagement session locations, but ended up settling on Brooklyn and New York City because that’s where RJ proposed.

They have such a sweet proposal story! RJ and Finianne often go to Barnes and Noble together to pick out books for each other. When RJ decided to propose, he bought a book from Barnes and Noble and cut out some of the pages to hide the ring in. On the day of the proposal, he took Finianne to Barnes and Noble on their date, just like they have done countless times before. He bought her another copy of the same book (so she’d have one she could read!) and then sneakily swapped the two of them out later. They then went to DUMBO and RJ gave her the book with the ring in it. No surprise she said yes!

I loved hearing their story as we visited those very same locations… the park under Brooklyn Bridge… and even the very same Barnes and Noble they went to. We originally planned the session to be around sunset, but the weather forecast included some rain, so we started the session right after I got off the redeye! It ended up working out perfectly though, and I am so excited to share their beautiful Brooklyn engagement session with you all!
